Chloé Saint-Liphard
I learned, with profound sadness, that my dear friend Chloé Saint-Liphard, the ethereal voice of Collection d’Arnell-Andréa, passed away on October 15.
I first met Chloé when I was only nineteen, in Fethiye, Turkey where she was travelling with her husband, Jean-Christophe. We remained friends through the decades, connected by something rare and difficult to name. She was one of the very few souls in my life with whom I felt truly connected.
Chloé had a soul as gentle as her voice, a rare musical gift, and a kindness that seemed to belong to another, more enchanted world. It is so heartbreaking that such a beautiful soul should leave us so young.
Perhaps some people are never entirely gone. They leave something of themselves in the music they give to the world, in the tenderness they awaken in others, and in those rare encounters that quietly find a permanent home in our hearts.
Chloé will remain with me in all these ways: in the memory of her gentle soul, in the haunting beauty of her voice, and in the precious knowledge that, once in a while, we are fortunate enough to cross paths with someone who feels inexplicably familiar to our own soul.

There is also a special musical connection to remember: Collection d’Arnell-Andréa recorded a version of their song “Une Attente Douleur” titled “Une Attente Douleur (Mahan’s Version)” in their album Les Marronniers. A small, unexpected thread connecting my own world with theirs, it carries a particular tenderness now, in memory of Chloé and her extraordinary voice.
Rest gently, dear Chloé. May your angelic voice continue to travel through the world, touching hearts we will never know, long after we are gone. And may the light of your beautiful soul never fade.
